Language |
Latin is a dead language -
meaning it is not spoken widely, and has no new words
added Latin
ceased to exist as an everyday language some millennia
ago, so why do Excel promote it's learning?
There are some very good reasons why Excel promote Latin
as a viable language in today's modern society. All
courses are open to students anywhere in the world and
there is no age limitation (at either end of the spectrum!) |

•
Latin is the 'Base' language for all modern Southern
European languages
• Latin is the 'Bridge' between Cyrillic scripts
and 'The Alphabet' - named after the characters Alpha,
Beta
• If you as an International person know Latin,
you will be able to understand, in principle; numerous
modern languages such as: Spanish, Portuguese, French,
Italian, Romanian, Greek; and by deference: Russian
and about 70% of modern-day English word roots
• Latin is still the language of Scholars |
|
In many respects,
the Latin language can be compared to a Yew tree:
• It is Evergreen
• It grows for Thousands of years, and relates
to the past as well as the present and future
• A very old Yew tree still has the same roots,
but now has many separate trunks (Or languages) springing
from the old stock
• Sometimes these new branches become intertwined |
